ABOUT DAMSY FUNDATION Damsy foundation is a humanitarian organization working towards building a community of happy homes and supporting families in order to strengthen their abilities and opportunities to improve their standard of living through innovative programmes and strategic consultations. We envisioned a society where people are protected, empowered and live their full potentials in life. We are registered with corporate affair commission (Reg NO 135194) and with Lagos state government. Our target beneficiaries are the marginalized and vulnerable groups such as Orphan and Vulnerable Children (OVC), women and girls and general population. The Office is located in Ikorodu, Lagos State, Nigeria We work with young people, the poor and the marginalized with the view of promoting values and commitments for achieving a healthy and developed society. We have equally engaged parents and guardians particularly women in all our focus areas on all our Programme areas either as proxies for reaching the young people orand for their own needs. Damsy Foundation management systems (financial, administrative, logistic, data, community) have been designed to be able to face the ever-increasing challenges associated with its work. We have improved systems for accountability. Damsy Foundation operates three-tier governance structure, consisting of ten (10) trustees of high national and international repute, a chief executive director and management team. The trustees provide strategic and policy guidance. It ratifies the decisions of the management and is actively involved in resource mobilization for the organization. The Board of Trustees provides direct supervision over the management of the organization on programme direction, resource mobilization and allocation, policy formulation and advocacy in the project statescommunities. OUR THEMATIC AREAS
1. Orphan and Vulnerable Children (OVC) Programmes: Damsy foundation initiated comprehensive OVC care. Our OVC program envisioned that these vulnerable group are cared for and protected by their family, community, LGA and State Government.
2. Economic Empowerment Programmes : Damsy foundation initiates Economic & Empowerment Programme (EEP) to empower marginalized and vulnerable groups through various vocational training, Entrepreneurial training and equipment and financial support for self-reliance and independent living.
3. Integrated Health Programmes: Damsy Foundation initiates Integrated Health Programme (IHP) with the aim of alleviating the health challenges of marginalized and vulnerable groups through advocacy, health and nutritional education, free medical checkup and medication, HIV counseling and Testing Services and referrals.
